This is for me quite a special story, as I have been using my drone to get the opening shot. I started to use drones only last year, therefore I’m still experimenting with light, angles, geometry, and perspective but so far I’m pretty happy with the results. I was also happy to visit a number of latvian palaces and castles I had never been to before, I must say it’s been a wonderful discovery. Stāmeriena Palace, in particular, is very much connected to Italian culture and history, as it has been home for the writer Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. He was married to Alexandra von Wolff-Stomersee, a brilliant russian-italian psychologist. According to the rumors she wasn’t fond of her sicilian mother-in-law, therefore she hardly visited Giuseppe on his island and preferred, instead, living in Latvia.
